Who travels on these pilgrimages?
Through the years we have had many wonderful, adventurous people travel with us. They range in age from eleven to seventy-five and they all have shared an interest in experiencing travel as pilgrimage. We are often asked,"do you have to be a Buddhist?" to travel on one of our Pilgrimages, or "do only Buddhists go?" The answer to each is "no." Our travelers have come from a wide variety of spiritual expressions; Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist, Christian, Jewish. Others prefer no definitions at all. Most have an interest in meditation if they aren't actual practitioners. They are quite an eclectic and fun-loving group of people who often stay in contact with one another after the pilgrimage ends.
Are the journeys physically demanding?
Some of our Pilgrimages are more physically demanding than others; they may include trekking to remote sites and camping at altitude. Others have train journeys and still others might have a day of travel by car or bus through high mountain passes. You will be advised of the physical nature of your journey before you choose to register.
How should I prepare and what should I bring along?
You will be sent a carefully selected packet of pre-departure materials that detail everything you will need to bring along for a sucessful journey! We are also happy to speak with you over the phone and discuss any personal tailoring needed for your journey.
Are there any books I should read before the pilgrimage?
Each participant will receive a reading list as well as a Pilgrimage Sourcebook specific to
the particular journey
