It is best to register as early as possible; space is limited and our scheduled pilgrimages are offered only once each year. A space will be held for you when we receive your deposit of $500 and the completed registration form. Once you are registered for the journey we will confirm your reservation and provide you with all the information needed to prepare for the pilgrimage. This will include a detailed itinerary, visa applications, trip insurance brochure, medical and health information, suggestions for background reading, and a clothing
and equipment list.
Land Cost
This includes itinerary development and research, all ground and air transportation within the country of destination, hotel transfers, baggage handling, first class twin-sharing accommodations with private bath where available, most meals, all excursions and special events mentioned on the itinerary, entrance fees and permits. Expertise of Western leaders and English-speaking guides and full services of cooks, porters, and drivers during excursions and treks on the itinerary are also included.
Land cost is based on double occupancy of all accommodation. If you prefer a single room, or if there is no roommate available, then a single supplement fee based on the itinerary will be charged.
Land cost does not include round-trip international airfare except as noted, stopovers, passport and visa fees, excess baggage fees, airport taxes, insurance, medical expenses, alcoholic beverages, bottled water, laundry, donations and other personal expenses.
Groups of 6 or more who register together for a scheduled pilgrimage receive a 10 percent discount on Land Costs.
Payment
After the initial deposit of $500 has been made by check or credit card, the first payment will be due three months before departure and the final payment will be due two months before departure. Specific dates are given with the detailed itinerary for each trip. Please make these two payments by check or money order.
Air Transportation
For most pilgrimages, the costs of the pilgrimage include in-country air and transportation fees. (See costs for each pilgrimage at the bottom of each of those pages.) However, participants will need to purchase their own round trip international air tickets to Asia. Arrival and departure cities for each pilgrimage are specified on the itinerary. Expenses for any stopovers en route will also be the responsibility of the participant. Insight Travel does not arrange international flights, but we do work closely with agents who we can recommend and who will help you obtain fair ticket prices on reputable airlines.
